Ron Woolley has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the site: the DTP / HTML Tutorials - plus. The site was created and is administered from Melbourne Australia, but the domain may reside on servers elsewhere.

Your details
We use your IP address to help to administer / assess our web site from private hit logs. We use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests or respond to your last visit and preferences (currently only the Forums send cookies to your browser).

Our site's Feedback and / or Registration forms require users to give us contact information (like their name and e-mail address). The customer's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary, and the sole purpose of any list is displayed with each submission form.

Any clients requiring us to access their site via login FTP or Telnet, is assured of complete first-person-only privacy of other site content, and protection of supplied login and password details. We only access those areas necessary for the job at hand. It would be professional suicide for any web site developer to offer anything less than this comprehensive guarantee of privacy and data protection, and not openly include a statement of such guarantee to prospective clients.

E-Commerce ( shopping carts - use of )... No longer applicable mid '04!
Via dtp-aus.com, the author now utilises a shopping cart program (our own) to facilitate payments for program installations, "Pro" program registrations, and pre-agreed payments of other services.

This site contains links to other sites. the DTP / HTML Tutorials - plus is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. However, as this site is proudly RSACi rated as a general viewing site (including children - level 2 slang only allowed), all added links etc are reviewed for compliance and rejected when necessary - NOTE this cannot be a complete guarantee for rotating banner ads etc displayed on other sites. We welcome any information regarding linked sites that may have changed content since a link was added.

Availability of details
Under no circumstances do / will we supply, sell, or in any other way make available, private details received from any submission, request, e-mail contact, or registration. If in conducting business or general contacts with customers, if the need arrises where a URL or e-mail address needs to be passed on to another person or organisation, it will only be done with the expressed permission of our visitor / client.

However, we will not consider any web site development on or for sites containing adult themes or topics of a highly controversial nature.

Auto-responders
Any online surveys installed from time to time ask visitors for contact information (like their e-mail address). The customer's contact information is used only as specified in each case. Other Auto responders are also used to confirm a visitors submission, giving the receiver the opportunity to respond if the receiver did not actually make the submission, and thus ask for any details saved to be removed.

Public Forums
This site makes forums / message boards available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. Forum pages are server generated and as such provide reasonable protection against robots.

Security
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All saved details are placed only in a server-secure area. No browser administration pages used to deal with the information displays (and therefore caches) submitted details. Our own server-side scripts are used for most mail-outs and if details are required locally, only login FTP is used.

Special Registrations disclosure of abuse
From time to time, these sites may require special purpose registration and agreements by persons of specific interests / groups. If the registration page displays the possibility of "abuse listing", then in extreme circumstances judged so by the webmaster, abusers names or URLs may be listed so as to inform other members of the special registration lists and protect their professional / personal integrity and privacy. This also applies to such matters as using membership to access other members clients.

Choice / Opt-Out
This site gives users the following options for removing their information from any of our e-mail lists or other data bases, to not receive future communications or to no longer receive our service.
